What is is the difference between and Outdoor Unit and an Indoor Unit?
An outdoor unit is most often a drive-up unit, that gives you the ability to load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck. An inside unit is within the property and will require you to go inside of the facility. At GMS the indoor units are climate controlled.
What is Climate Controlled?

Climate controlled units are items in a constant environment (temperatures between 55°F and 85°F). To ensure climate control, our storage units are enclosed and, therefore, resist dust, pests, humidity, and more threats to valuables. Due to the extra costs, there are several factors to consider when deciding whether climate controlled storage fits your needs. If you are you storing family heirlooms, photo's, antiques, paintings/artwork, electronics, books or other sensitive materials, you may want to consider climate controlled.

Effects of Extreme Temperature:

  • Cracking, tearing, breakage and warping of wood from expanding and contracting in extreme heat and cold.
  • Yellowing and degradation of fabrics and papers from extreme temperatures.
  • Mold and mildew stains on papers and fabrics caused by fungus-friendly temperatures.
  • Rust, corrosion and weakening of metal which has been exposed to moisture, as well as very hot and very low temperatures.
  • Ruin of electronics by dampness and/or extreme cold.
  • Warping of items, as well as fading and degradation of sound and image quality.
  • Damage to furniture and fabrics by rodents or insects.
What is a Drive Up Unit?
At GMS a drive-up unit is an outside unit, located inside the secure fence, that gives you the ability to load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck.
What is the Difference Between Office Hours and Gate Hours?
The office hours are the hours of operation for the managers office. During these hours the site Manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs. payments, etc. The gate hours are the hours of the property, and when your unit can be accessed. If you will require access outside of our standard gate hours ask your Store Manager for information about 24-hour access.
What Should I do If I lose my Access Card or Key for my Lock?
If you lose your access card, we can replace it for a $10 deposit. When you return the card you get the deposit back. If you lose your key contact the office manager to discuss your options.
